Marc-Antoine Camirand had the fastest overall time at the conclusion of two Friday practice sessions for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Camirand’s No.22 GM Paillé Chevrolet set a blistering time of 31.936 seconds (119.264 mph) to claim the top spot after the two sessions in advance of the Visit New Hampshire 100, the inaugural stop for the Pinty’s Series in the United States.
The 39-year-old racer from Saint-Leonard-d’Aston, Quebec, picked up his first career win last time on the track at Autodrome Saint-Eustache, and looks to continue his momentum into the inaugural stop at the 1.058-mile oval.
His 22 Racing teammate Alex Tagliani logged the second quickest lap with a time of 32.002 (119.018 mph). Tagliani comes into the event five points behind L.P. Dumoulin and has one previous start at NHMS coming with the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2011.
D.J. Kennington logged the third fastest overall time (32.028 seconds/118.921 mph). Kennington was also quickest in the first practice session run earlier in the day.
Cole Powell had the fourth quickest overall time. Powell has four previous starts at NHMS in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour coming in 2012-2014. Donald Theetge, who ran the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at NHMS earlier this year, completed the top five.
Andrew Ranger and Kevin Lacroix were sixth and seventh fastest, followed by Pete Shepherd III, Anthony Simone and Adam Martin.
Qualifying for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series will commence at 3:20 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The Visit New Hampshire 100 is slated to take the green flag at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.
