Alex Tagliani, Donald Theetge combine for full NASCAR Canada effort

Alex Tagliani will return to the NASCAR Canada Series in 2026 with his familiar road and street course only schedule alongside fellow veteran Donald Theetge in the latter’s No. 80 Chevrolet Camaro.

Don Thompson will continue to serve as crew chief for the effort.

Tagliani, the 2011 Indianapolis 500 pole winner, aims to add to his 12 wins on the Canadian national stock car touring division.

“I’m really excited about the upcoming season—there’s a fresh start with new faces in the series, new tires, and a new partnership,” Tagliani said. “It’s pretty special to split driving duties while also being partners off the track. We share the same passion for racing, and that’s what makes it so great to share the cockpit with Donald.”

Theetge aims to add to his three wins on the tour.

“We’re really looking forward to the 2026 season. Last year was super exciting — racing at Mosport and at GP3R, seeing Tag battle with the #96 and the #27 and finishing on the podium,” Theetge said. “We had some bad luck, which was unfortunate, but we’re excited to see what we can accomplish this year.”
