Short Track on TV this Weekend

For short track fans in need of a fix this weekend, there are a handful of events to be consumed with numerous events across the country providing a live broadcast.

While there are no asphalt majors on the docket this weekend, both the Southern Super Series in Pensacola and CARS Tour at Carteret County have races available on some form of pay-per-view streaming.

Also available for free is the weekly show at Berlin Raceway.

Here’s a short list of short track racing streams for the penultimate weekend of June.

Friday: Southern Super Series (SLM) at Five Flags Speedway

The road to the Snowball Derby continues on Friday night with the second Super Late Model race of the season at 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. The last time the series raced at the Gulf Coast half-mile, there was a fight between Stephen Nasse and Donnie Wilson. Both drivers have moved on but this is an example of what the speed and proximity can do to drivers while racing in the summer heat. Bubba Pollard, Casey Roderick and Corey Heim are also expected to compete.

Saturday: CARS Tour Crystal Coast 125

The CARS Tour will feature just its Late Model Stock division on Saturday night at a track where virtually none of its contenders have track time. Carteret County Speedway is still a relatively new facility and is a long drive from the Late Model Stock hotbed of central Carolina and Virginia. That should produce close racing in a season that has been dominated by Bobby McCarty — whom holds a 19 point lead over Lee Pulliam nearing the halfway point of the season

Saturday: Berlin Raceway Superhero Night

The standard bi-weekly card for Berlin Raceway, this time featuring Super Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman Mini Wedge and 4-Cylinders. Carson Hocevar won the 2017 championship in a playoff format over Joe Bush, Terry Van Haitsma and Jordan Dahlke.
