A total of 18 events will be held at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway in the 2020 season, the track’s fifth full season of racing.
The complete list of race dates was released on Friday morning at the Piedmont Racing Expo at the North Carolina State Fair Exposition Building in Raleigh. In all, the season will consist of 18 races, including the traditional Memorial Day and Labor Day race weekends.
On Saturday, March 21st, a few weeks prior to the season opener, the make-up date for last year’s postponed 4-Cylinder Nationals will commence. Then, on Saturday, April 18th, the 2020 season will get underway.

The action will kick into full gear with three races in the month of May, including the 5th Annual Memorial Classic on Sunday, May 24th. Two races will be held in June and another two in July, including the CARS Solid Rock Carriers Tour race on Saturday, July 11th.
The months of August and September will see two races each – including the Davey Allison Memorial on Saturday, August 22nd and the Bobby Watson Memorial Celebration on Sunday, September 6th. Three races will be held in October. The regular season will conclude on Saturday, October 3rd, followed by the Vintage Nationals on Saturday, October 17th and a race on Halloween night with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
“We are excited about the upcoming season,” track owner Bob Lowery said. “This will be our second year of working to keep Bobby’s dream alive and keep racing going here at Carteret County Speedway. We have a fantastic facility near the beach here with great racing on Saturday nights and we hope drivers and fans come out all season long.”
