Kingsport Speedway will play host to 26 racing events from March to September in 2020.
“We’re so excited for the 2020 season,” said Karen Tunnell, general manager and promoter of Kingsport Speedway. “We have a really strong schedule of events put together for everyone around the Tri-Cities.”
TOURING SCHEDULES: CARS Tour | CRA Super Series | Midwest Tour | TUNDA SLM Series| PASS North | NASCAR Modified Tour | Pretoria Race Alliance | Southern Super Series | ACT | Tri Track
The 2020 season at the Concrete Jungle begins on Saturday, March 21, followed by a second Saturday afternoon race on March 28. The start of summer in the south means the beginning of regularly scheduled Friday night racing on April 10.
There are countless special events on the schedule, including the Racer’s Reunion Night on June 12, the Independence Day weekend spectacular on July 3 and the return of the Tour of Destruction at a to be determined date.
The Southeast Super Truck Series will make its annual two appearances at the .375-mile concrete venue on July 11 and September 26.
“As always, our schedule is packed with a lot of racing action through the spring and summer,” Tunnell added. “We’re also very excited to have the Tour of Destruction returning to the speedway for the first time since 2014.”
REGIONAL SCHEDULES: South Boston | Langley | Motor Mile | Hickory | Stafford
The weekly action will continue to feature Late Model Stock Cars, Sportsman, Pure 4, Mod 4 and Pure Streets.
2020 will also see the reopening of the Kingsport Miniway, the go-kart track located on the Kingsport Speedway property. The go-kart track is currently undergoing facility upgrades and will host kart rentals and sanctioned racing events.
“The reopening of the Kingsport Miniway has been highly anticipated,” said Tunnell. “We’ll be hosting go-kart rentals for everyone to come and have fun, as well as racing events.”
