Danny Bohn dominates Modified 100 at Bowman Gray

Corey Latham

Danny Bohn dominated the 100 lap Modified race at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday night to claim his second win on the season.

Bohn started on pole and led every lap en route to victory. Jason Myers ran second until the halfway point when he had a mechanical issue under caution which took him out of the race. Tim Brown moved into second, but was unable to put up a fight against Bohn.

The race was marred by several cautions, but even with all the restarts, it was clear early on that nobody had anything for Bohn. A big crash on lap one set the tone for the race, as most of it was spent running a few laps green then having a caution for a quick spin. Despite all the chaos, the last 22 laps went green which allowed Bohn to open up a sizable lead and comfortably take the win.

“[I] had a really good car,” Bohn said in victory lane on FloRacing. “[I’ve] gotta thank my guys, my dad, everybody that helps out with this thing. This is just awesome. Happy father’s day to all the fathers out there. My dad works his ass off on this car so it’s cool to put it in victory lane.”
