Burt Myers won his 12th Modified championship at Bowman Gray Stadium while Brandon Ward scored his first win of the season.
Championship night at The Madhouse saw a 150-lap feature to decide the champion for the 2026 season. Myers had a 14 point cushion over Tim Brown heading into the race. Junior Snow was third in the standings, 87 points behind Myers, but mathematically had a chance.
Myers started the night off well, winning the pole. Just before halfway, Brown suffered a mechanical issue that forced him to retire from the race. This left Snow as the only possible thwart to Myers, but it would take a lot of things to go right for Snow to have a chance. Snow saw his little bit of hope disappear on lap 116 when he was involved in a big crash on the frontstretch.

This locked the championship up for Myers. He was running second behind Ward when the crash happened, then while under caution, the red flag came out for lightning. About 30 minutes later, heavy rain moved in, ending the race.
Myers started the race from pole but his son Slate took the lead on the outside. Slate led until lap 37 when Burt took the lead back on the outside on a restart. Just before halfway, Slate fell back to fourth when his driveshaft broke in turns one and two.
Riley Neal moved into second place, and battled side-by-side with Burt on the restart, but a quick spin by Kyle Southern brought out another caution. This time. Ward got by Neal on the inside to take the second spot.
Another caution fell on lap 91 for sand that was kicked up into the racing groove in turn four. Ward took the lead on the outside on lap 94 on the restart from Myers, a lead he kept until the weather arrived.
Due to the weather, neither driver was able to be approached for interviews.
