UARA’s Sportsman division returns to Citrus County Speedway for their season finale with a championship that hasn’t been closer all year. The three-eighth mile in Inverness, Florida is set to play host for two races this Saturday, November 7th, to close out the 2026 Sportsman season after the mutual parting of UARA and Auburndale Speedway earlier this year. Each race will consist of 50 laps instead of the usual 75, and full points are to be awarded in both.
Tim Sozio’s consistent performances put him at the summit of the championship a majority of the season. However, Dylan Bigley’s stellar second half of the year brought him back and in control following a runner-up finish at the Freedom Factory, only behind Dodge Carlbert.
The top five in points, consisting of the aforementioned Sozio and Bigley, along with James Seeright, Adam Briggs, and Brandon Morris have seemingly switched positions on a race-by-race basis, but never able to run away with the championship, being separated by just 44 marks.
This has allowed two-time defending UARA Sportsman champion Dodge Carlbert, sixth in points even after missing a race, to sneak his way back into championship contention, clawing his way to within 85 tallies of Bigley’s lead.
Coverage for this Saturday’s double-header event is scheduled to begin approximately at 5:45 PM local time. Entry list and top 20 in standings can be found below.
