Matt Tifft to mentor Billy VanMeter to turn page on Glass City 200

Matt Tifft and Billy VanMeter are moving on from their Glass City 200 incident, together.

All parties involved in the conflict last weekend at Toledo Speedway have spoken and have even agreed to work together. In a joint statement released on Friday morning, Tifft took ‘full accountability for initiating the confrontation’ and that VanMeter does not ‘condone the actions’ that led to Tifft getting kicked in the face by now former crew member Bryan Glaze after being wrestled to the ground.

Glaze and Tifft have spoken on the phone and had ‘a productive conversation.’

Additionally, Tifft has offered to mentor the second generation racer, son of ASA CRA champion Eddie VanMeter, ‘to help him learn and reach his full potential on the track.’

That was the whole point of contention from Tifft to begin with, that he felt VanMeter was not driving in a professional manner, as he has been involved in numerous crashes over the course of the season several seasons in a row.

“We appreciate the support from our fans and partners and kindly ask that everyone allow us to handle this matter internally and welcome positive and constructive discussions around this moving forward, as we all want to turn the page and put this behind us.”
