Brett Taylor extends NASCAR Pinty’s stay with EHR through 2020

NASCAR

Having already earned a measure of success with Ed Hakonson Racing over the past month in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, Brett Taylor has already decided to extend his stay for another year and a half.

The 35-year-old made an uncanny mid-season move last month, taking his self-owned No. 46 car from the CBRT stable to EHR following the race at Autodrome Chaudière.

The reason had nothing to do with any ill-will with CBRT operator Joey McColm, but rather, a desire to work with EHR general manager Jason Hathaway.

“This isn’t about making a change because anything was wrong, it’s looking at the long-term strategy to have the greatest success as a team and for me personally,” Taylor said in a press release.

The results have shown immediately with finishes of sixth and third on Wednesday night during the Twin 125s at Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon.

Now they will continue on together through the 2020 NASCAR Pinty’s Series season.

EHR owner Ed Hakonson is excited to see where this partnership takes them, especially with a driver based out of Calgary, Alberta.

“We’re thrilled to have Brett joining us,” Hakonson said. “Bringing in a full-time NASCAR Pinty’s Series driver from western Canada to join with our current operation provides us with unique opportunities to build partnerships on a national level.

“Having the entire operation run from our shop makes things easier for Brett, who resides in Calgary with his family and where his business is located. This relationship allows him to better manage his time.”
