Rain cancels South Boston Saturday

Lingering thunderstorms on Saturday forced South Boston Speedway to cancel its Davenport Energy Race Night, which was headlined by Twin 75 lap Late Model Stock races.

“Given the weather forecasts we have received from the national weather service and other weather outlets, it is in everyone’s best interest that we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s Davenport Energy Race Night event,” said South Boston Speedway General Manager Brandon Brown. “We invite everyone to come out and join us for our next scheduled event on Saturday night, August 17.”

That event will feature Twin 75s for Late Model Stocks, a 50 lap Kenny Meadows Limited Sportsman Memorial feature Race for the Limited Sportsman Division, a 25-lap race for the Pure Stocks, a 20-lap race for the Hornets Division and a 25-lap race for the Southern Ground Pounders Vintage Racing Club to complete the night’s racing action.
