UARA, Ricky Brooks holding off on approving AR Bodies Revolution body for now

The Revolution, the 2020 AR Bodies answer to the Five Star Next-Gen shell, is still floating out there as an alternative body style for high level Late Model racing but has still yet reached widespread approval.

For one, all the major promoters and stakeholders are reforming the Approved Body Configuration Committee, and should that group reach consensus, could see to wider use of both next-generation shells.

UARA, the Super Late Model sanctioning body operator by Ricky Brooks, put out a statement on Thursday at the Performance Racing Industry trade show on Thursday that it is postponing the implementation of the shell until after the new committee meets.

Brooks statement read:

Owner Ricky Brooks attended the Aerodyn Wind Tunnel test held by AR Bodies on July 25, 2024. During that test, using an AR Bodies first generation body as a baseline, the Revolution body was determined to share similar aerodynamic characteristics and was approved for competition with the series based upon this first-hand information.

The UARA decision to delay the release of its final rules stems from a desire for fairness and equality amongst the participants of ABC Body Program. Brooks was a leading member of the original committee.

“I am going to honor AR Bodies request to try and make it easier on the racer,” Brooks said. “We all need to stay on the same page but will not hesitate to release the final UARA rules if the committee cannot make a decision.”

The UARA Super Late Model rulebook has not been made official but will be following a new ABC Body Program Committee meeting on December 14.

Who will make up that committee isn’t known yet. That will be decided on Saturday.
