Ricky Brooks leaving Cordele Motor Speedway

Ricky Brooks will be departing Cordele Motor Speedway and his post as general manager. His last date at the track is April 21.

“Over the last year, we have grown Cordele into one of the premier short track facilities in the country,” said Brooks in a press release. “But as we continue to see growth in the UARA National Super Late Model Series and continue to maintain the UARA Sportsman, I felt it was best for me to concentrate our full efforts on that venture.

“With that said, I appreciate the Noland’s belief in me, and I wish them success in their future endeavors.”

Brooks joined the track as general manager when owners Greg and Lori Noland took over ownership of the facility in January 2024.

Since then, the track has underwent principal renovations from a new VIP tower, an upgraded public address system, a video board and clean bathrooms. The track has unveiled a five race Super Late Model schedule, all under the UARA banner, that concluded with the World Crown 300 in October.

If the Super Fest races continue, they are currently not set to be UARA sanctioned.

Matt Weaver is the owner and founder of Short Track Scene. Weaver grew up in the sport, having raced himself before becoming a reporter in college at the University of South Alabama. He also has extensive experience covering NASCAR, IndyCar and Dirt Sprint Cars.
