Bubba Pollard spotlighted on NASCAR Atlanta broadcast

Last Sunday, NASCAR on FOX debuted a new segment intended to spotlight a regional short track star within whichever market the Cup Series is racing at on a given weekend.

They call it ‘Short Track Boss.’

The first race to utilize this feature was the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, so where else would the broadcast turn other than Senoia, Georgia and Super Late Model superstar, Bubba Pollard?

Pollard wasn’t aware that the spotlight was coming and was caught by surprise while he was watching the race.

Part of the segment included a complimentary quote from reigning Cup Series rookie of the year Chase Elliott, who had many battles with Pollard while both raced Super Late Models against each other.

“I’ve always looked up to him,” Elliott said. “I’ve lost a lot of races to him and learned a lot of lessons with those losses. I felt like if a guy could go and run with Bubba or try to beat him, you were doing something right.”
