ASA STARS intends to live up to the moniker in 2025 with the creation of a loyalty program designed to considerably increase car counts for the national Super Late Model tour.
The ‘Platinum Program presented by Rackley Roofing,’ inspired by the World of Outlaws program of the same name is replacing the winner’s circle program used over the past two years. Valued at $655,000, a 925 percent increase, the goal is to entice a wider array of race teams to run the full season.
This is in addition to a million dollars in race purses and the $100,000 championship purse.
‘The Platinum Program is packaged with several monetary bonuses to help with the costs of racing most notably a $1,500 per event bonus bringing the lowest total per race to an impressive $3,000 in addition to several digital media assets amongst other perks such as a guaranteed provisional which will all help to elevate the teams brand and partners.’
The guaranteed starting spot was an important lesson ASA STARS learned early on with Stephen Nasse failing to qualify into the main event for the second ever race at Madison International Speedway in Wisconsin.
He had every intent to run every race that season but fell off because there was no reason to race if not championship eligible because the winner’s circle program was not robust enough to encourage it. The Platinum Program is a response to that but will also ask teams to commit to the program up front.
Marty Melo, national tour director of operations and sales, says this is about providing guaranteed name value for those attending races or watching on the streaming platforms.
“It’s our goal to see Asphalt Super Late Model team owners and drivers succeed so they can provide our fans and partners with exciting racing every time they unload at the racetrack, and the best way to do that is by supporting them as much as we can,” Melo said in a release. “That’s why we are beyond excited for 2025 to have a strong $100,000 points fund, increased purse payouts to over one million dollars, and increase our Platinum Program immensely.”
That sentiment was echoed by Track Enterprises CEO Bob Sargent.
“Everyone has been working hard for two years to get to this point,” he said. “We are all in this together, our teams, partners and my staff, and our goal is to continue to grow our national touring platform along with the ASA brand and this is a huge step.”
