Dawson Sutton claimed his fourth Nashville Fairgrounds Pro Late Model victory of the season on Saturday night but drew the ire of Hunter Wright to do it.
Dutton and Wright traded the lead over a series of runs throughout the night. Sutton led the first 56 laps from the outside pole. They would then traded the advantage on practically every restart with Wright taking the lead again on a restart with nine to go.
Sutton hounded Wright, who in return ran a defensive line, leading to a bump-and-run that sent the Rackley WAR No. 26 to Victory Lane to a chorus of boos from the Music City faithful.
“It’s alright,” said Sutton in Victory Lane. “When you chop somebody’s nose for 30 laps, you’ve got to do something about it. It is what it is, and we’ll move on to the next race.”
Corey Deuser finished third, with Jackson Boone and George Phillips completing the top-five. Phillips rebounded from a spin on lap 7.
