Luke Baldwin to chase third straight SMART title

Luke Baldwin will chase a third consecutive championship in the SMART Modified Tour in the Sadler-Stanley Racing No. 7 Tour Type Modified in 2026.

Baldwin, 19, is the youngest son of Daytona 500 winning crew Tommy Baldwin Jr. He has six wins in 28 starts with 20 top-5s, He also won the $20,000 King of the Modifieds race at South Boston in 2024. The team will continue in a PSR Chassis with sponsorship support from Pace-O-Matic.

“What Luke has accomplished both on and off the track the last two years has been impressive and fun to watch,” Sadler-Stanley Racing co-owner Hermie Sadler, said. “Luke has a great future ahead of him and it will be exciting to watch him race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, along with on the SMART Modified Tour. We are truly excited to have him back in the Pace-O-Matic Modified in 2026 trying to chase some history.”

Baldwin will also make 12 Truck Series starts with Team Reaume alongside his championship pursuit with Hermie Sadler and Bill Stanley.

“Going back to Sadler-Stanley Racing for a chance to win a third consecutive SMART Modified Tour championship – it’s incredible,” Luke Baldwin said. “Hermie and Bill took a chance on me, and it has paid off in many ways. I expect no different in 2026.”

Matt Weaver is the owner and founder of Short Track Scene. Weaver grew up in the sport, having raced himself before becoming a reporter in college at the University of South Alabama. He also has extensive experience covering NASCAR, IndyCar and Dirt Sprint Cars.
