Hermie Sadler schedules SMART Modified start

For the first time since 2021, Hermie Sadler is back in the saddle in the SMART Modified Tour, driving the No. 16VA Tour Type Modified he co-owns with state politician Bill Stanley.

The start will come on Saturday, February 28 in the season opener at Florence Motor Speedway in South Carolina. The No. 16VA will be contested with numerous drivers making starts across the campaign with a championship focus for the No. 7 sister car driven by Luke Baldwin.

“For our race team, obviously a great deal of focus will be on trying to help Luke Baldwin and the No. 7VA team win a third consecutive SMART Modified Tour championship,” Sadler said. “We are going to use the No. 16VA as an opportunity to put some different drivers on the track, both drivers on the rise in racing and some names that will be familiar to race fans. We are excited about the season, and I appreciate the support of Pace-O-Matic and our entire team for the opportunities ahead of us.”

Sadler last raced at Pulaski County in the SMART Tour in 2021. Prior to that, he raced in the Xfinity Series at Richmond for DGM Racing.
