Kaden Honeycutt joins stacked Jerry Moody Memorial field

A rare weeknight Late Model Stock Car race has given full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Kaden Honeycutt an opportunity to race.

Honeycutt will be competing in Wednesday night’s Jerry Moody Memorial at Southern National Motorsports Park, which is headlined by a 125-lap Late Model Stock Car race.  The headline race is also the second race of the I-95 Showdown between Southern National and Florence Motor Speedway.

“We needed to knock some rust off for the 17 group,” Honeycutt said.  “We have a really good car.  We’ve had good success with this group and I think it’s going to be a good race for us tonight.  I think, every time we show up, we can win.  We’ll see if we can win one tonight.”

Because of his busy NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule, Honeycutt will only be able to run a handful of Late Model Stock Car races in 2026.  Southern National, however, is

“I like it a lot, mostly because of how low grip it is,” Honeycutt explained.  “Not much to lean on here.  That’s what makes it fun.  A lot of banking.  It makes for good stuff and teaches you how to take care of tires for sure.”

Honeycutt joins a stacked field, which also includes the reigning zMAX CARS Tour champion, Landen Lewis, as well as four-time Southern National champions Deac McCaskill and Jamey Caudill, two-time Thanksgiving Classic winner Matt McCall, defending Southern National Late Model Stock Car champion Doug Barnes, Jr., and defending I-95 Showdown champion Matt Cox, among others in the 22 car field.

The Jerry Moody Memorial will go green at 8:00pm and will be broadcast live on Ultra Broadcasting.
