Jacklyn Drake will return to Late Model Stock Car racing for the first time in a decade through a partnership with Craig Moore.

Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour reporter and event marketing manager Jacklyn Drake will return to her roots when she climbs behind the wheel of a Late Model Stock Car at Orange County Speedway in a partnership with Solid Rock Carriers and Craig Moore Racing.

“It’s been ten years since I’ve actually been behind the wheel,” Drake said. “This has been something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while now and it’s been in the back of my mind regardless of where I’ve worked or travelled. I feel like Craig Moore and Kirk Ipock of Solid Rock Carriers are the right people to make this happen and line me up for success for my ten-year reunion.”

Drake spent most of her early life at dirt and short tracks around her home state of Texas when she was known as Jacklyn Harris. She started racing at the age of six and has competed in Go-Karts, Quarter Midgets, Legends and Super Late Models, earning NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Rookie of the Year Honors at Houston Motorsports Park in 2009.

Drake ended up accepting a position as a marketing specialist and graphic designer with Roush Yates Engines, with her talents drawing the attention of the CARS Tour, who brought in Drake to help them with marketing and conduct driver interviews.

In recent years, Drake branched out with several of her own projects that included co-hosting the Sealed Off podcast along with starting up Monday Night Live on Instagram that features interviews from drivers and crew members from different auto racing disciplines.

Drake has enjoyed building her brand and interacting with many prominent figures in motorsports, but she has also missed being behind the wheel and is looking forward to shaking off the rust with a strong run in one of Moore’s Late Models at Orange County in a few months.

“Craig has been around the CARS Tour and has had success there,” Drake said. “He has a lot of short track knowledge and he’s working very hard on his driver development program. We felt like we could do very well together and that his team would be a great one for me to partner with.”

Drake’s entire family will be in attendance to watch her get back behind the wheel at Orange County as part of the facility’s Firecracker Frenzy, which will take place on July 17.
