Puryear Tank Lines Raises Purse for CARS Tour Opener

This will be the first Tour race under new management.

An expanded partnership with Puryear Tank Lines will see the CARS Late Model Stock Tour pay $12,000 to the winner of the season opener at Southern National Motorsports Park on March 11.

The purse increase also extends to second place, which grows $3000 to $6750 and third place, which grows $,000 to $3750.

The overall event, which includes twin 125 lap races for both the Late Model Stock and Pro Late Model divisions will be named the Puryear Tank Lines 225. The company has partnered with the series dating back to its inception in 2015.

Donnie Puryear operates Puryear Tank Lines and says his partnership with the short track tour has been a vital component of his business’ growth.

“Puryear Tank Lines is extremely proud to sponsor CARS Tour events,” Puryear said in a press release. “We love trucking, family and racing, so this is the perfect partnership to work with. We’re looking forward to building on our relationship with the CARS Tour in 2023.”

In addition to sponsoring races, Puryear Tank Lines has sponsored numerous cars including those driven by 2016 LMSC Tour champion Deac McCaskill, defending NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series champion Layne Riggs and Jeb Burton.

The partnership is also valued by CARS Tour founder Jack McNelly.

“A lot of what we have been able to do would not have been possible without Donnie Puryear,” McNelly said. “He has been such an avid supporter of not only our series, but the drivers who are just trying to get to the track every week. It is a privilege to have Puryear Tank Lines as a sponsor and I am confident we’ll have them around for years to come.”

This is the first event under the league’s new ownership group spearheaded by Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick and Justin Marks. CARS Tour says additional announcements about the partnership with Puryear Tank Lines will be announced in the coming weeks.
