With a month left to add even more, the entry list for the Snowflake 125 is already up to 59 cars.
The Pro Late Model prelude to the Super Late Model main event at Five Flags Speedway over the first week of December was given an extra 25 laps, to 125, after Five Flags Speedway general manager received feedback from racers for a longer race.
The idea was that a harder tire compound had turned this race into a bit of a crash fest with minimal passing and less finesse but the extra 25 would put it into the hands of the drivers. And racers have responded with their entry blanks when also factoring in the $10,000 prize and a $1000 start amount.
It’s not always common for drivers who attempt the Snowball Derby to field Pro Late Models the same week but there is a staggering number of them in this field in the form of previous winners Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse, Kaden Honeycutt but also perennial contenders like Cole Butcher, Matthew Craig, John Bolen and 2022 winner Casey Roderick.
Keelan Harvick, the son of 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick, is making his debut in the event. CARS Tour race winner and Chili Bowl feature earner Jade Avidisian is making her debut as well.
Pro Late Model winners like Brandon Lopez, Evan Shotko, Jake Finch, Dustin Smith, TJ DeCaire, Jett Noland, DJ Shaw and Spencer Davis have also filed entries.
Snowball Derby week runs from December 3-7. The Snowflake 125 is Saturday night, December 6. The entire week will air live on FloRacing.
