Snowball Derby to pay bonus for simply applying a flag sticker to your name rail

The highest finishing driver in the Snowball Derby with a sticker of their home state or country flag next to their name on their roof rail will receive an extra $1000.

In short, this is a way for Five Flags Speedway General Manager Tim Bryant to encourage teams to celebrate their heritage on the brightest stage in Super Late Model competition each year.

“Each year we continue to be impressed with the travel that drivers do to be a part of the Snowball Derby,” Bryant said in a press release. “Years ago it was a bunch of guys from Florida and some outsiders, but now it’s Minnesota, Wisconsin, California, New Hampshire, Virginia, Washington; the list is growing each year, and we want drivers to represent themselves and where they are from.”

The 2025 race featured drivers from 16 different states and two Canadian provinces. This doesn’t even include the drivers that failed to make the 300-lap main event or even drivers in other divisions.

The Snowball Derby pays $50,000 independent of bonuses like this one.

Race day is Sunday, December 6 and culminates a week that begins with rig parking on Wednesday, December 2nd.
