Cole Butcher to miss two months after Afib surgery

The ASA contender will be back for big race season

International Super Late Model ace Cole Butcher will miss the next two months of starts across all the divisions he participates in as he underwent atrial fibrillation ablation to treat an irregular heartbeat.

Amongst the races Butcher will miss is the ASA STARS Michigan 200 at Owosso and the Glass City 200 at Toledo, Southern Super Series Georgia Summer Nationals and the ECI Pro Stock Tour’s Summer Clash 250 at Scotia Speedworld in his native Martime Canada.

Butcher, who races for Wilson Motorsports stateside, is second in the national championship standings to Casey Roderick, all but cementing the championship for that tandem, should they finish the season, which didn’t happen last year.

Meanwhile, Butcher is expected to make a recovery in time for the big paying autumn race season, which includes events like the Winchester 400, All-American 400 and Snowball Derby.

Butcher’s win the past two years include the Oxford 250, Redbud 400 and ASA wins at Five Flags, Mobile and Hickory.
