Cordele postpones next Super Fest, avoids ASA STARS conflict

Cordele Motor Speedway has made the decision to postpone its Spring Showdown, the second round of its UARA Super Fest track championship, therefore removing the date conflict it shared with ASA STARS at Dominion Raceway on April 5.

The Super Late Model race at the former Watermelon Capital Speedway was set to pay $10,000-to-win for a 125 lap race but would struggle to draw the likes of Bubba Pollard and Stephen Nasse, who are both ASA platinum drivers still in championship contention after this past weekend.

UARA, which is owned by Ricky Brooks, says the decision was made by the track, owned by Greg and Lori Noland, in which Brooks serves as general manager.

Pollard won the inaugural Super Fest 125 in February. The next Super Fest race is scheduled for May 10.

Good decision by the track owners. Hopefully the groups can get together and resolve the other two schedule conflicts as well. The May 24th race at Newport(ASA/SSS) and the August 2nd race at Mobile (SSS).
