UARA, Cordele moving on without each other in scheduling announcements

With the unceremonious split between outgoing general manager Ricky Brooks and Cordele Motor Speedway, UARA is seeking races to replace the ‘Super Fest’ events they were set to promote together.

Additionally, the Greg Noland owned short track in Georgia will at least run the next ‘Super Fest’ race on May 10 without Brooks and his UARA owned sanctioning and officiating crew. The race will be contested using Cordele officials with a $10,000 top prize.

The track has also announced that the originally scheduled May 31 $6000-to-win Pro Late Model race will continue as scheduled as well with their in-house officials led by new operations manager Ben Sumner.

Thus, Brooks is on the lookout for new track partners to fill out the schedule for his UARA National Super Late Model sanctioning body. There will be no UARA events at Cordele moving forward. ‘Those dates and venues will be announced in the coming weeks,’ a UARA statement read.

The statement also said ‘any speedway wanting to talk can call Ricky and discuss.’

Brooks’ UARA Sportsman Series race at Cordele scheduled for July 19 is also being moved somewhere else.
