Qualifying for the 49th Snowball Derby concluded with William Byron on top of the provisional starting lineup.

For 31 drivers, the consummation of a dream is just one step away. For the 26 drivers that just missed out on qualifying into the show on time, the clock is ticking and one race will determine the the remaining five spots in the back half of the starting lineup.

Saturday night at roughly 6 p.m. ET will see those 25 drivers battle to occupy the first five spots by the end of 50 laps. Those drivers will advance and everyone else will go home. It’s that simple.

Of course, the results of this race will be tending a technical inspection, no different than qualifying or the main event. So teams must be legal upon crossing the finish line as well. Transfer spots have been won and lose in the Room of Doom inspection station as well.

It’s worth noting that the ‘hooligan race’ wil feature some heavy hitters, such as veterans Logan Boyett, Jeremy Pate, Stephen Nasse. It also includes CRA championship runner-up Dalton Armstrong, ARCA contender Bret Holmes, ARCA winner Dalton Sargeant and Truck Series regular Spencer Gallagher.

Most surprising was that all three David Gilliland Racing drivers failed to qualify in based on time. That includes reigning K&N West champion Todd Gilliland, CARS Tour champion Raphael Lessard and Cole Moore. There is no shortage of intrigue for this race.

Here is the starting lineup for the Snowball Derby last chance qualifier. This is pending any teams that potentially withdraw before Saturday.
