Nasse leaves Pensacola 25K richer after Southern Super sweep at Five Flags

Stephen Nasse left Five Flags Speedway $25,000 richer on Saturday night, completing a weekend sweep of the Twin Blizzard 100s.

After leading every lap Friday night, Nasse had to work a little harder for his second win of the weekend. Bubba Pollard started from the pole and paced the opening 40 laps before Nasse made his move for the lead on Lap 41.

From there, the reigning Snowball Derby winner settled into a rhythm at the front, while Jake Garcia mounted a charge over the closing laps and cut into Nasse’s advantage in traffic, but it was too little too late.

The victory paid $10,000 and, coupled with Friday’s win, earned Nasse an additional $5,000 bonus for winning both ends of the doubleheader.

“It definitely makes the weekend sweeter,” Nasse told Racing America. “I just can’t say enough about this Anthony Campi Racing. That’s why I go with them when it comes to the big races.”

Nasse wasn’t exactly over the moon about his car on Friday night but the weekend as a whole proved their strength as he looks to defend his Snowball Derby win.

“We’re getting fine-tuned for the Derby this year, trying to double down,” Nasse said. “This was a good showing for us, my first weekend in the car. Definitely had a lot of bugs to work out.”

Garcia rebounded from an 11th-place finish in Friday night’s opener to challenge for the victory on Saturday.

“I didn’t think it was too bad for our second race in this car,” Garcia said. “I still feel like there’s a lot we can improve on. We were not very good last night and made some changes today in practice. Really thought about it last night and came back a lot better.”

Bubba Pollard hasn’t won at Five Flags since 2024. Starting on the pole both races, he wasn’t able to fully capitalize but left Pensacola optimistic.

“We’ve just got to keep working on our stuff,” said Pollard. “We’re definitely better than we have been this year and last year. Just keep working.

“We hadn’t had too good of luck to finish some of these races. If we can just keep finishing, we’ve got speed. We got about halfway through the race, but now we’re getting where we can finish some races and start working on race cars.”

Matthew Craig finished fourth while Hunter Robbins backed up Friday’s runner-up effort with a fifth-place finish.
