The Spears CARS Tour West Super Late Models will celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary with the Freedom 250 at Tri-City Raceway, a 150-lap battle under the lights featuring the West Coast’s top SLM drivers. The event marks the SLMs’ inaugural race at the half-mile tri-oval in West Richland, Washington, and the fifth race of the division’s seven-race season. Live coverage of the Freedom 250 at Tri-City Raceway will stream on FloRacing beginning at 6:15 p.m. PT (9:15 p.m. ET) on Saturday, July 4.
Point leader Jace Hansen heads a stacked SLM field that includes the series’ most recent winner, Dylan Zampa; the division’s only repeat winner, Taylor Mayhew; Kevin and Keelan Harvick, both seeking their first SLM victories of 2026; Ethan Ebert, who has won two SLM events at Tri-City; and Washington natives Max Schroeder and Trace Thompson, both of whom have extensive SLM experience at the facility. All will be chasing the $15,000 winner’s purse.
With a 18-car field representing nine states, drivers will be looking to join Hansen (Kern Raceway), Mayhew (The Bullring and Colorado National Speedway) and Zampa (Wenatchee Valley Super Oval) as 2026 SLM winners. Mayhew remains the only repeat victor this season.
TRI-CITY SLM EXPERIENCE
Ethan Ebert, 19, has victories in the last two SLM events at Tri-City Raceway (2026 Apple Cup, 2025 Fall Classic) with Johvan Dillon, Bryce Bezanson and Max Schroeder all scoring top-10 efforts in the 2026 SLM Apple Cup.
HEAD OF THE CLASS
Through the season’s first four races, Jace Hansen of Evans, Colorado, has established himself as one of the division’s most formidable competitors, leading the series in podium finishes (four), average finish (2.0) and laps led (146). Charlotte, North Carolina, native Keelan Harvick, 13, has also impressed with four top-five efforts in four races and a 3.8 average finish.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Bryce Bezanson Vito Cancilla, and Kevin Harvick each have two top-five finishes through the season’s first four races. Harvick will make his third SLM start of 2026 this weekend.
TRI-CITY PLM EXPERIENCE
Drivers entered in this weekend’s event who recorded top-10 finishes in the Northwest PLM Apple Cup at Tri-City Raceway earlier this year include Ethan Ebert (fifth), Vito Cancilla (seventh) and Ken Bonney (ninth). Washington natives Max Schroeder, Trace Thompson and Tyler Brown have all recorded multiple top-five and top-10 finishes at the track. Johvan Dillon, Keelan Harvick, Trace Thompson, Todd Connell and Madex Moran are also among those on the preliminary entry list who competed in the Apple Cup PLM event.
SLM 2026 SCHEDULE: In addition to this weekend’s race at Tri-City, the division races at Evergreen Speedway (Aug. 13-15), before circling back to The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Nov. 14) for the season finale.
RECORD SETTING PURSE IN 2026: The biggest payout in Spears CARS Tour West history is up for grabs in 2026 with $2.1 million in total payouts, including $200k in championship awards, $1.9 million in purse money and bonuses and partner awards at every race. Multiple marquee events with high-dollar purses are on the docket through the season.
