Cleetus McFarland sets inaugural Pro Late Model series event at Berlin

As part of his foray into Pro and Super Late Model racing, Garrett Mitchell dba Cleetus McFarland has launched his previously teased Pro Late Model series, scheduling a debut event for August 15 at Berlin Raceway.

Under the moniker ‘Cleetus McFarland’s Late Model Series,’ a $20,000-to-win Late Model race will be contested at the Marne, Michigan bullring using the same rules package used for the UARA sanctioned Money in the Bank and Battle at Berlin.

The Late Model races promoted by Cleetus will run alongside his traveling Crown Victoria races that he also manages.

This inaugural event has also been scheduled for four days after the $40,000-to-win Battle at Berlin on August 12. Cleetus is expected to compete in both races that week.

The YouTuber turned NASCAR hopeful has purchased a Port City Race Cars chassis and is planning to use it for two purposes — continue race craft development but also event promotion and content. From his standpoint, if he’s going to spend time in a race car to hone his skills, he may as well create content and races around it too.

He teased this to Short Track Scene after a conversation in March.

“Then, wherever we go, the local can join us or my friends with Late Model and can join us. We’re already at the track with the Crown Vics so might as well run the Late Model too. That’s my current outlook on using them. I’m committed to learning those cars and put on a bunch of races to the schedule.”
