Following an extended month-long break due to the ongoing tire shortage, both divisions of the CARS Tour are set to return this weekend at Motor Mile Speedway.

Since its inception back in 2015, the CARS Tour has only raced at Motor Mile on two occasions. Bubba Pollard and Bobby McCarty won in the Super Late Model and Late Model Stock divisions respectively during the CARS Tour’s most recent visit back in 2019.

While Pollard is not on the Super Late Model entry list, McCarty is looking to win his second consecutive CARS Tour race at Motor Mile but will have to fend off a talented group of Late Model Stock drivers that includes Josh Berry.

The winner of the other CARS Late Model Stock event at Motor Mile, Berry has won two of the three races he has entered in 2021 and will try to continue his efficiency while on a break from his NASCAR commitments.

Berry is not the only NASCAR driver competing at Motor Mile this weekend. Chase Purdy is piloting a Late Model Stock for GMS Racing while Grant Enfinger will be behind the wheel of the No. 96 Super Late Model for Highlands Motorsports.

The presence of NASCAR competitors at Motor Mile this weekend are expected to add another twist in the close championship battles ongoing in the two divisions.

McCarty maintains a small gap over Kaden Honeycutt in the Late Model Stock standings, all while defending series champion Jared Fryar and veteran Justin Johnson are within ten points of McCarty’s lead.

Two-time CARS Super Late Model champion Matt Craig picked up his first victory of the season in the Throwback 276 last month and will try to match Carson Kvapil’s win total on Saturday while simultaneously extending his eight-point advantage over him.

Saturday’s Long Run Transportation 225 can be viewed live on carstour.tv, with the green flag set to fly at 7:30 p.m. for the first race of the evening in the 100-lap Super Late Model feature. Entry lists for both divisions can be found below.
