The Pro Late Model doubleheader scheduled for this Friday at
Five Flags Speedway and Saturday at Montgomery Motor Speedway has been
re-scheduled for next weekend, June 14 and 15 due to an unfavorable weather
forecast.
“With the rain chances hovering between 80% and 100% for the weekend, we’re taking the safest odds and going ahead with a rescheduled date next weekend,” said Five Flags General Manager Tim Bryant in a press release. “While we realize the ever so slight chance is that the forecast will change, both Stan Narrison and myself agree that we don’t want to chance our racers going up and down the road for nothing.”

This is the first time the two tracks have worked together to
promote similar races on the same weekend. With an identical rule book, the
idea is that teams that show up on Friday will already be ready to compete on
Saturday just two hours north of the Gulf Coast.
“Tim and I have been wanting to do this doubleheader
thing for a while now, and we’re determined to pull it off,” said
Montgomery Motor Speedway General Manager Stan Narrison. “With each race
paying $4,000 to win, it makes for a fairly nice weekend potentially.”
Insinger Performance, the southeastern Sunoco distributor, provided
further encouragement on Wednesday by adding bonus money.
The driver with the best two-night average finish was already set to pick up a $500 bonus, but the tracks have now agreed to match that money, meaning the driver with the best two-night average finish will pick up an extra $1,000.”
