ASA Southern Super Series announces new finale for 2025

Jason Reasin

New Smyrna Speedway will now host the championship race for the ASA Southern Super Series in 2025.

The half-mile oval in New Smyrna Beach, Florida is a staple in short track racing, especially in the south east. The season finale, which takes place on November 15 won’t be any regular race either.

The race will be the 60th Annual Florida Governor’s Cup 200. The Governor’s Cup has been a long running staple in Super Late Model racing. This will be the second time that the series hosts its season ending race at New Smyrna, but this is the first time it will be the Governor’s Cup. Champion Racing Association, which has officiated the event in recent years, will continue to assist with the race. Additionally, it will also serve as the Championship Race for the track’s own Sunbelt Series.

The Governor’s Cup 200 will be the 14th race of the season and the 13th points-paying race of the year for the tour. A new points-paying structure will also be announced soon for the series. The ASA Southern Super Series will run twice at New Smyrna in 2025, with the first coming in the Clyde Hart Memorial with ASA STARS National Tour on February 11, 2025.
