SMART Modified Tour releases 2025 schedule

Southern Modifieds will run 14 races at 13 different tracks

The SMART Modified Tour’s 14 race schedule for 2025 was released on Tuesday with familiar venues once again on the tour, and one race still to be announced.

The series will race all across the Carolinas and Virginia, from the coast to the mountains, at a diverse array of tracks.  Last year, the tour introduced playoffs, which led to rookie Luke Baldwin claiming the series championship.  The 2025 schedule will once again test the south’s best Modified drivers.

“This schedule shows the strength of the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic,” SMART Modified Tour series director Chris Williams said in a series press release.  “All of the tracks we raced at last year are back because their fans and our drivers enjoy the races at those facilities.  We are building traditional races that we hope people are wanting to return to see for years to come.  Plus, we are excited to return to two tracks to our schedule this year as well.”

As has been the case since 2021, the SMART Modified Tour will race predominantly in the spring and fall to avoid conflicting with Bowman Gray Stadium.  The series will start out with back-to-back races in South Carolina in the first two weeks of March, and then head to South Boston Speedway for the tour’s marquee race, the King of the Modifieds at South Boston Speedway.

After South Boston, the tour will compete at Orange County Speedway and Hickory Motor Speedway in April and has one race on May 23 still to be announced.  The only other race in mid-summer will be at Caraway Speedway on July 5.

After the summer break, the SMART Modified will run its Labor Day Weekend “Beach Trip” doubleheader at New River All American Speedway and Carteret County Speedway.  Last year, the New River race was pushed to Saturday morning, setting up a historic single day doubleheader on the Crystal Coast.

From there, the series will head to Caraway, Dominion and Lonesome Pine in September.  The tour was scheduled to race at Lonesome Pine last year, but the race was canceled due to rain.

In October, Tri County Speedway will host the penultimate race before the SMART Modified Tour once again crowns its champion at North Wilkesboro in a weekend tripleheader with the zMAX CARS Tour’s Late Model Stock and Pro Late Model Tours.

Each of the 14 races will be carried live on FloRacing.
