LUCAMA, NC – Southern National Motorsports Park will kick off its 2026 season with its third consecutive Speed Week, consisting of six nights of racing in late February and early March.

Speed Week will kick off with a doubleheader weekend Saturday, February 28, 2026 and Sunday, March 1, 2026.  Both races will be headlined by soon to be announced touring series races.  The Allison Legacy Race Series will be a part of the opening weekend.

After two nights off, Speed Week kicks into full gear on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 with four straight nights of racing for Late Model Stock Cars, Legend Cars, and Bandoleros.  Each Late Model Stock race will pay $5,000-to-win each.  The races on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 will also feature Mini Stocks, Chargers, and Any Cars.

“It’s gonna get even better,” Southern National Motorsports Park track owner Michael Diaz said.  “There’s some really neat stuff we haven’t announced about those series on February 28 and March 1.  Trying to solidify some things with that.  I know the Allison Legacy Series will be here on the February 28 date for their season opener.”

Southern National first introduced Speed Week in 2024, with the zMAX CARS Tour bookending the week with each of their tours.  In 2025, Speed Week grew, especially with Late Models and Legends.  Doug Barnes, Jr. won the Late Model Stock Car Speed Week championship by virtue of his three wins.

“Each year that I do it, it’s getting closer and closer to being exactly what I want, which is the opening of racing in North Carolina to happen here at Speed Week at Southern National.  I think it’s going to be pretty cool, really neat.”

Southern National Motorsports Park still has multiple races on the calendar for 2025, including Part II of the Road to the Classic on Saturday, October 4.  The Halloween Spooktacular Limited Late Model race will return on Saturday, October 25.  Then from November 28-30, the 25th Thanksgiving Classic will take center stage to close out the 2025 racing season with Late Model Stock Cars headlining the final night on November 30.
