SWANSBORO, NC – Carteret County Speedway’s winter classic is returning in December with a $10,000-to-win Limited Late Model race on Sunday, December 14, and a $5,000-to-win Charger race on Saturday, December 13.
The speedway has held a mid-December race every year since 2021. Last year, Connor Hall picked up the win in a frantic Limited Late Model race.
Unlike in previous years, entries will not be capped. The track, however, will only start 20 cars in the Limited Late Model feature race. The field will be determined through heat races which will kick off the Sunday portion of the Christmas Clash.
The Limited Late Model race will be 110 laps in length, while Saturday’s Charger race will be 75 laps. The Limited Late Models will run out of the Florence Motor Speedway rulebook. The race pays $10,000 to the winner and $1,000 for each position from second on back. It will be a four-tire race, run on the Hoosier F45* tires.
The event was announced on the track’s Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon.
