Martinsville Late Model Stock 300 Date Set

The 2022 running featured 90 cars and a really enjoyable evening of racing.

Martinsville Speedway has set Sept. 23 as Race Day for the ValleyStar Credit Union 300.

The race is considered the most prestigious in Late Model Stock racing and annually welcomes 70-90 cars each late summer. Last year, two-time Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series champion Peyton Sellers accomplished one of the sole remaining bucket list items on his resume in claiming the Ridgeway Grandfather Clock after 200 laps.

The entry list boasted 90 cars last season.

“The ValleyStar Credit Union 300 is an annual tradition that brings the racing community together at Martinsville Speedway for the nation’s biggest, richest and most prestigious NASCAR Late Model Stock Car race,” said Martinsville President Clay Campbell in a press release. “Thanks to our long-time partners at ValleyStar Credit Union for their support to bring the best local racers from around the country to compete on the most challenging short track in motorsports.”

The 2023 race will feature three segments of 75, 75 and 50 laps respectively. A complete format and the purse will be released at a later date.
