Isabella Robusto Diagnosed with Concussion after Hickory Crash

The driver is otherwise expecting to make a full recovery following a period of rest.

Following a crash that knocked over a jersey barrier at the end of pit road on Saturday night in the CARS Pro Late Model Tour race at Hickory Motor Speedway, Isabella Robusto has been diagnosed with a concussion and has withdrawn from a touring car race this weekend at New Orleans Motorsports Park.

The incident occurred just as she and leader Mike Hopkins took the white flag, contact between them appearing to break something on her Donnie Wilson Motorsports chassis, sending the car forward facing into the barrier. That contact un-moored the barrier and sent it careening into a nearby photographer.

The photographer’s wounds were treated with stitches at a nearby medical facility while Robusto climbed out of the car under her own power and went on to compete in the CARS Late Model Stock Tour race for Lee Faulk Racing and Development.

At the time, Robusto said she felt well enough to compete but symptoms started to manifest in the days since.

In addition to her Late Model and touring car duties, Robusto also competes in ARCA for Venturini Motorsports under the Toyota Racing Development program.
