After an eventful Old North State Nationals at Orange County Speedway that saw Josh Berry take home a $30,000 paycheck for the second straight year, the CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour returns to action on Friday night at Ace Speedway.

The .4 mile oval has hosted races for the CARS Tour since 2018, with two-time series champion Bobby McCarty leading every single lap to win the inaugural Race At Ace 125.

McCarty was in a great position to pick up his second victory at Ace in 2020 but ended up being taken out on the frontstretch by Josh Berry, who was running several laps down following an accident between the two earlier in the race.

Ryan Millington took advantage of the crash to pick up his first career CARS LMSC Tour win in a photo finish that saw him hold off Layne Riggs by .040 seconds.

Millington is not among the 20 cars entered for Friday’s 125-lap feature but McCarty is looking to pick up from where he left off in 2020 while simultaneously extending his narrow one-point advantage over former champion Deac McCaskill in the standings.

Friday’s Race At Ace 125 can be viewed live on carstour.tv, with the green flag scheduled to fly at 8 p.m. The complete entry list can be viewed below.
