UARA postpones Sportsman race at Auburndale

The UARA has decided to postpone the 75-lap Sportsman feature race at Auburndale Speedway after learning forecasts of weather in the Winter Haven area showing rain at the time of the green flag for the Sportsman division, also stating in their Facebook announcement fuel prices had influence on the decision as well.

The following conclusion is to run a double-header of 50-lap races at the quarter-mile in Florida. The original schedule had Auburndale as the championship finale, so this choice allows for a make-up date from this weekend’s postponement without sacrificing much of anything.

“With the weather forecasting rain at race time for this weekend and the price of fuel, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s event in everyone’s best interest,” said the UARA in their Facebook statement. “But don’t worry we’re already working ahead! We will return on November 7th to Auburndale Speedway with an action-packed night featuring TWIN 50s!”

The UARA as a whole now has a lot of racing in October, with events taking place each of the first three weekends next month. The Sportsman division’s next stop is at the Freedom Factory on October 17th, part of a companion weekend with the National Series for the Bigley Memorial Tune-Up 125.
