Four races remain for the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series, with one of the tightest championship battles developing in series history.
The series heads to New London-Waterford Speedbowl. The Top-3 in the championship standings are separated by seven points.
Jonanthan McKennedy is looking to go back-to-back and pick up a third career Monaco Modified championship, as he leads the championship standings by five points. McKennedy has two wins in the 2026 season, winning at Thompson in April, and comes off a thrilling win at Seekonk in mid-August.
Trailing McKennedy in the standings is 2019 Monaco Modified champion, Ronnie Williams, only five points behind McKennedy. Consistency has been the name of the game in 2026 for Williams, with four Top-5s and five Top-10s on the season.
Currently third in the championship standings, two points behind Williams, seven points behind McKennedy is Ron Silk. Silk is the only other multi-time winner in 2026 along with McKennedy. Silk won at Thompson and Stafford earlier this summer.
Another driver to watch and can’t be ruled out to hunt down these Top-3 is Kyle Bonsignore. Bonsignore is 29 points behind McKennedy and is 22 points behind Silk in third.
The Monaco Modifieds last visited New London-Waterford back in June, where it was Matt Hirschman taking home the win. Hirschman is entered for this Sunday’s race, looking to sweep the year at New London-Waterford. McKennedy came home with a runner-up finish in second, and Kyle Bonsignore rounded out the podium.
Ron Silk came home in fourth in early June, but has won previously at New London-Waterford back in 2015. Ronnie Williams came home in ninth earlier this summer.
Kyle Bonsignore had a strong run in June, getting a third place finish, as he continues to get closer to his first Monaco Modified series win.
Another intriguing battle within the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series is the USNEPower Energizer Zone, a season-long program that will award a $2,000 bonus based on performance and longevity inside the championship Top-5.
Currently leading the USNEPower Energizer Zone are McKennedy and Williams, as they are tied, with both spending all five races this season inside that championship Top-5.

A New York native, Durham embraced the dirt big block modified world close to home, eventually working for Lebanon Valley Speedway hall-of-famer Eddie Marshall. Durham's first opportunities as a journalist and photographer came for Race Pro Weekly after meeting founder Bobby Chalmers. A meteorologist by trade and now living in Massachusetts, Durham covers regional racing across the Northeast.
