The ASA STARS national Super Late Model tour has a stacked roster of 27 teams and counting in advance of a Saturday afternoon second round matinee at Five Flags Speedway.
First and foremost, the race features the return of the reigning champion but Cole Butcher is now driving the Bob Lyons No. 44 after years driving for Wilson Motorsports but is still entrenched at HAMKE Race Cars alongside his full-time Truck Series season at Thorsport Racing.
His teammate, Jake Garcia, is also making a one-off in the No. 35 prepared by Ricky Turner.
From there, it’s a lot of familiar faces from a ASA STARS, Southern Super Series and Blizzard Series track championship standpoint with the likes of Snowball Derby winner Stephen Nasse and Bubba Pollard also filing entries without having committed to the national championship.
Fresh off a win in the ARCA Racing Series at Phoenix Raceway last week, ASA points leader and New Smyrna winner Carson Brown is leading the way from a tour standpoint with Anthony Campi Racing ahead of Tristan McKee (Wauters Motorsports), Dawson Sutton (Rackley WAR), Spencer Davis (GMS Race Cars) and Conner Jones. Expected Rookie of the Year Jade Avedisian is also in attendance alongside Wilson teammates George Phillips and Kyle Steckly.
Former Snowball Derby winner Derek Thorn leads a list of former marquee race winners that also includes Matthew Craig and Casey Roderick.
