First Look: Martinsville Late Model Stock 300 Entry List

The biggest race in the discipline features a record purse

The ValleyStar Credit Union 300 is still over a week away but the first look at the entry list for the biggest Late Model Stock race of the season is out at 79 cars strong with more expected to enter before next weekend.

The list features defending winner Peyton Sellers of Sellers Racing, with other previous winners Landon Pembelton of Sellers Racing, Mike Looney of Billy Martin Racing and Jamey Caudill all returning for a shot at a second Ridgeway Grandfather Clock. Other expected contenders include three-time CARS Tour champion Bobby McCarty of R&S Race Cars, two-time CARS Tour champion Carson Kvapil of JR Motorsports, two-time CARS Tour champion Jared Fryar, both Lee Pulliam Performance cars driven by Brenden Queen and Brandon Pierce, Icebreaker winner Doug Barnes Jr in his family owned car and various track champions in Landon Huffman, Carter Langley and Ryan Millington.

This year’s race, which takes place on Saturday night September 23, boasts the largest purse in event history at $125,000. It pays $32,000-to-win the 200-lap main event but the most noteworthy purse elements come from outside the top-five thanks to regional partnerships with Hitachi Energy, Danville Toyota, The Lester Group, MaxPro and B99.

The ValleyStar Credit Union 300 now pays $1,275 to start the main event from 31st to 40th. The top-five breakdown is as follows:

1. $32,000
2. $8,000
3. $6,000
4. $5,000
5. $4,000

This race will be run in three  stages. There will be a 5-minute break at or near the conclusion of lap 100 and lap 175. The known entries have been provided below and will be updated as necessary. The race will air live on FloRacing and also be broadcast over the radio via the Motor Racing Network.
