In a continuation of what has been a red hot year of late model competition for Kaden Honeycutt, the Aledo, Tx native shot to the top of the charts in Late Model Stock car qualifying once again Thursday afternoon at North Wilkesboro. Honeycutt, behind the wheel of the Tom Usry Racing No. 17, earned his first CARS Tour pole of the year, and will lead the field to green in the 100-lapper on Friday night.

The day started early in the morning for Tour, with an 8:00 a.m. start to practice putting both Pro Late Models, and Late Model Stock cars on track for a pair of early morning sessions for both series. A relatively uneventful morning saw just two incidents, one for Max Reaves scraping the wall in turns one and two with his Late Model Stock, and a spin for Hettinger Racing Pro Late Model driver James Seeright off of turn four.

Running double duty with the Tour this weekend, Corey Heim topped the early LMSC session while Brenden Queen topped the later round of practice. Treyten Lapcevich and Seth Christensen topped a pair of PLM practice sessions.

After a long pause in on track action, qualifying kicked off late in the afternoon, with Pro Late Models first to set their starting lineup. Luke Baldwin set fast time for the Pros, beating out Mason Walters for the top spot. T.J. DeCaire, Heim and Honeycutt made up the rest of the top five.

On the Late Model Stock side, it was Honeycutt who nabbed the pole by over a tenth on Jake Bollman. Queen, Carson Kvapil and Heim made up the rest of the top five, with Landen Lewis, Mini Tyrrell, Treyten Lapcevich, Conner Jones and Parker Eatmon completing the top 10.

The session included one major incident for Colton Ingerick, who took a hard hit into the turn one wall after an apparent failure in the right front of his No. 2. Keelan Harvick and Caden Kvapil both had major slides, and saves in turns one and two, managing to keep their cars out of the outside wall.

Racing action for the CARS Tour at North Wilkesboro is scheduled to go green 6:00 p.m. ET tonight, with the Pro Late Models 75-lap preluding the 100-lap Late Model Stock feature. All coverage can be found on FloRacing.
