Ricky Brooks to become General Manager of Citrus County

Jason Reasin

Citrus County Speedway and UARA shared a joint press release earlier this evening, with the announcement that Ricky Brooks, the owner and promoter of the UARA, will take over as Citrus County’s general manager, beginning duties in 2027. The .375-mile oval located in Inverness, Florida will also serve as the official home to the UARA.

William Ray, the owner of Citrus County, has worked with Ricky Brooks before to host UARA events in the past at this venue, but reached a hiatus of three years without hosting an event after 2022, making its long-awaited return earlier this year across all UARA series.

William and Erin Ray voiced their appreciation to Brooks with William stating, “Ricky’s 30+ years of experience in motorsports will be priceless both in moving Citrus County Speedway in the right direction and in implementing new ideas for the speedway. We are devoted to developing the next generation of racers and fully committed to ensuring that Citrus County Speedway will always be a short track, and working with Ricky and the UARA is a move in the right direction for all involved.”

Erin Ray added that she has “seen firsthand the passion and professionalism that Ricky possesses for motorsports, especially for short track stock car racing, and that he’s a racer at heart.”

Below is the full joint release between Citrus County and UARA.

This news comes just over a week after UARA made its last visit to Citrus County for the 2026 season.
