Michael Atwell and Stephen Nasse will lead the field to green in the 49th Rattler 250 on Sunday afternoon at South Alabama Speedway.

Postponed to Sunday due to an outbreak of tornadoes across the region, the UARA National Super Late Model classic will now take place after a UARA Sportsman division 75 that is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. CT.

Atwell claimed the pole with a 15.511 lap around the Kinston, Alabama short track and claimed the $1000 corresponding bonus. This came after topping the field in final practice as well.

“Yeah, I think we have a good car,” Atwell said. “It’s had speed all weekend but we have 250 laps ahead of us. We’re happy. We have good track position so we can sit there and ride and get ourselves set up for the second part of the race but I can’t thank these guys behind me enough.”

That includes crew chief Mike Garvey and car owner Chris Davidson.

Nasse will start second after finishing second to Jake Finch on Friday night in the Pro Late Model Baby Rattler 125.
