Battle at Berlin Raceway 250 features stout roster

Julia Schachinger/NASCAR

As has become annual tradition, some of the biggest names in North American Stock Car racing are heading to Western Michigan this week for the Battle at Berlin 250 at Berlin Raceway.

NASCAR Cup Series drivers Carson Hocevar and Erik Jones, both native Michiganders who consider the track their home, are amongst the entries and will compete against defending Truck Series champion Ty Majeski.

In terms of national Super Late Model stars, the entry list also features the likes of Bubba Pollard, Matt Craig and Chase Pinsonneault. Hocevar is the defending winner and Pollard won the year prior to that.

Historically, the race traces its roots to its tenure as the Rowdy Race 251, which was a Kyle Busch invitational won by the titular driver in its first three seasons from 2010-to-2012.

The race has also long rewarded the weekly racers who compete at the track with points leader Austin Hull also on an entry list that includes familiar faces like Evan Shotko, Tyler Lupton, Brian Campbell, Terry Senneker and Andrew Scheid.

The event is sanctioned by the UARA National, while also counting towards NASCAR Advance Auto Parts National Championship points as Berlin is a NASCAR Home Track. With the co-sanctioned nature of the race, it will air on both the FloRacing and Racing America streaming platforms.

There have been five races so far this year under UARA National sanctioning.

Cordele Supefest: Bubba Pollard
Rattler 250: Michael Atwell
Money in the Bank: Carson Hocevar
Billy Joe Ingram Memorial 154: Nick Neri
