Sealed Engine Alliance Leaders Committee membership confirmed for 2026

After announcing a new voting structure around both the Super Late Model and Pro Late Model divisions, the Sealed Engine Alliance Leaders Committee has now confirmed its voting and non-voting membership for the 2026 season.

SEAL is a group of officials from various short track racing organizations that govern and standardize sealed crate engines, with an aim towards cost containment and competitive parity through the certification of engine builders, rules packages and performance testing.

The new membership is comprised of the following:

Committee Leadership (Non-Voting)
Chair: Marty Melo
Consultant: RJ Scott
Committee Administrator: Nicholas Rogers

Technical Advisory Group (Non-Voting)
David Lewis
Freddie Query
Rick Davis

Pro Late Model – Voting Members
Scott Menlen
Tim Bryant
Bob Sargent
Kip Childress
Chris Wright

Super Late Model – Voting Members
Scott Menlen
Tim Bryant
Bob Sargent
Tim Huddelston
Todd Thelen

Melo recently completed the purchase of the ASA brand from Track Enterprises. Scott was the longtime co-promoter of the CRA Super Series and Pro All Star Tour. Rogers is the race director for the Southern Super Series and an industry everyman.

“This revamped SEAL Committee is about transparency, balance, and technical consistency across the industry,” Melo said in a press release statement. “By separating voting responsibilities from leadership and advisory roles, we’re creating a structure that allows informed decisions while maintaining fairness and accountability.”

Query, Lewis and Davis are each longtime technical directors and field specialists with backgrounds in competition.

Menlen is the ASA STARS series director. Bryant operates Five Flags Speedway, the Snowball Derby and Southern Super Series. Sargent is the president and founder of Track Enterprises. Childress is the CARS Tour director and Wright is the CARS Tour West director.

Huddleston is the co-promoter of CARS Tour West and several western region tracks and Thelen most recently owned Slinger Speedway in Wisconsin.

“The SEAL Committee brings together experienced voices from across different series and regions,” said Bryant in a press release. “This structure gives a diverse group of industry leaders a seat at the table and ensures that decisions are made with the long-term health of the sport in mind”

The group will hold its first meeting this week.
