The first look at the entry list for the 56th Annual Snowball Derby dropped late on Monday night.
It’s a provisional entry list, meaning more teams are expected to enter, but the current number stands at 46 with less than a month left until teams begin arriving at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. Short Track Scene has been told the track is expecting a final entry list in the 50-55 range.
It contains most of the usual Super Late Model heavy hitters like defending winner Derek Thorn, now driving for Shafer Motorsports, alongside Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse, Matt Craig, Gio Ruggiero, Luke Fenhaus, Cole Butcher and Carson Kvapil. Fenhaus of note, is driving for Rackley WAR.
Newly crowned ASA national champion Ty Majeski is back in pursuit of a second Tom Dawson Trophy as well.
From the NASCAR ranks is Cup Series drivers William Byron, Ryan Preece, Noah Gragson and Erik Jones. Byron is driving for Anthony Campi Racing, Preece is driving for Kevin Harvick Inc., Gragson is driving for Rette Jones Racing and Jones is driving his own car.
