Florida Governors Cup Preview, Entry List

It’s arguably one of the better entry lists for the Florida Governors Cup at New Smyrna in several years on Sunday afternoon at the famous half-mile not too far from Daytona International Speedway.

William Byron will return in a No. 24 prepared by Anthony Campi Racing.

Before making his move to the Xfinity Series with Richard Childress Racing next season, ARCA champion Jesse Love will spearhead a potent Donnie Wilson Motorsports stable that also includes Winchester 400 winner and Southern Super Series champion Gio Ruggiero.

Stephen Nasse will race at his home track.

Speaking of home tracks, it doesn’t matter how star studded a field is, everyone has to go through the legendary multi-time track champion Brad May when racing at New Smyrna Speedway.

Remarkably, despite having a considerable amount of experience and starts at New Smyrna, none of these favorites have actually won a Gov Cup, meaning more than likely there will be a new winner of the season ending event.

The event also features Pro Late Models and Florida Modifieds on Saturday night and the racing will air live on FloRacing.
